Multiple Vantage Points: Southern California Women Artists, 1980-2006 PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONSSouthern California Women's Caucus for ArtThe Southern California Women's Caucus for Art (SCWCA) is one of 33 chapters of the national Women's Caucus for Art (WCA), the leading nonprofit organization for women actively engaged in the visual arts professions and an affiliated society of the College Art Association. Now celebrating it’s 30th anniversary, the Southern California chapter is dedicated to the cultural, aesthetic, and economic value of art by women. SCWCA offers conferences, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, artist studio visits, gallery and foundation tours, and recognition opportunities to women arts professionals in Southern California. Southern California Council of the National Museum of Women in the ArtsThe Southern California Council (SCC) is a nonprofit volunteer organization established in 1990 as a supporting organization for the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, D.C. NMWA is the world's primary museum dedicated to bringing recognition to the achievements of women artists of all periods and nationalities. It is SCC NMWA's goal to support the National Museum of Women in the Arts and to increase public awareness of the work of California's women artists locally and nationally. The Department of Cultural Affairs – Los Angeles Municipal Art GalleryThe Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Los Angeles and all its visitors. Its goal is to be a cultural catalyst and support for the delivery of art, culture and heritage of our diverse community. The Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery in Barnsdall Park is the leading exhibition facility of the Cultural Affairs Department. The gallery’s mission is to exhibit cutting-edge contemporary art from the greater Los Angeles area, showcasing and promoting the diversity of artists and arts that are represented in the southland.
