WHO WE ARE
About SCWCA (Symposium Organizer)
The Southern California Women's Caucus for Art (SCWCA) is a local chapter of the national Women's Caucus for Art, an organization founded in 1972 to encourage arts and academic institutions to include and recognize women in the visual arts. Membership in our chapter encourages the development of mutually beneficial relationships between artists, art historians, curators, and critics both locally and nationally. Together we strive for the equal representation of women's art by supporting a non-sexist, non-racist approach to art criticism, art education, art exhibitions, and art history.
Since 1976—Dedicated to the Cultural, Aesthetic, and Economic Value of Women’s Art.
We invite you to become a member and join in our activities! For more information click here.

NMWA is the world's primary museum dedicated to bringing recognition to the achievements of women artists of all periods and nationalities. It is SCC NMWA's goal to support the National Museum of Women in the Arts and to increase public awareness of the work of California's women artists locally and nationally.
