PRIMARILY RED

This exhibition will examine the many meanings and cultural expressions of the primary color red. Artists are invited to explore the symbolic, physical, emotional, spiritual and visual aspects of red.

Juror: Meg Linton, Director of the Ben Maltz Gallery and Public Programs at Otis College of Art + Design
Eligibility: Open to all women artists residing in Southern California.
Media: Drawing, painting, photography, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, and assemblage.
Any necessary pedestals for 3D work must be supplied.
Slides: 35 mm (2” x 2“) paper or plastic mounted slides. Label slides with artist’s name, title of work, medium, size, date, and numbers that correspond to entry form. Indicate top of the slide.
All slides from SCWCA members will be kept for the artists’ registry. All slides from non-members will be returned (except for those of accepted work), provided a SASE is included.
Nonrefundable Entry Fees:
$25 for non-members (up to 3 slides)
$15 for SCWCA members (up to 3 slides)
$10 for each additional slide. Maximum 5 slides.

Hanging Fee: Accepted artists will be assessed an additional hanging fee of $30 for non-members and $20 for SCWCA members.
Delivery and Pick-up of Accepted Work:
Hand deliver works to the SCWCA office at 2100 N. Main Street, A5, Los Angeles, CA 90031 on Saturday, December 17, 2005 from 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
Entries: Accepted work which differs significantly from the slides may be excluded by the juror. Submitted work must be available for sale and must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.
Specifications: All work should be ready to be installed. 2D work should be prepared properly for hanging and cannot exceed 40 lbs. in weight. No work may exceed 84 inches in any direction.
Sales: 50% commission on the sales price (10% to SCWCA and 40% to I-5 Gallery).
Insurance/Liability: No insurance is provided. SCWCA and I-5 Gallery will exercise reasonable care with slides and original work. Neither SCWCA nor I-5 Gallery, their staff, volunteers, or anyone connected with the exhibition will be responsible for any loss or damage.
Agreement: Signing and submitting the entry form constitutes acceptance of all terms and conditions set forth.
