VOYAGES & EXPLORATIONS

Opened June 26, 2004

SCWCA Office Gallery at The Brewery

Los Angeles, CA

Thirty-five members contributed a fascinating variety of artworks to the Voyages & Explorations exhibition, which opened on June 26th. The theme elicited images of external travel to Alaska, Alcatraz, Cuba, Denmark, Hawaii, Italy, Ireland, London, Mexico City, New Orleans, Persia, and the Orient as well as inner-world explorations embodied in self-portraits, dreams, memories, mystical and shamanistic experiences, labyrinth journeys, and personal life changes. The expansive use of media in this show ran the gamut from oil and acrylic painting, pastels, ink drawing, photography, and digital prints to collage, assemblage, weaving, paper mosaic, acetate and wax.
