Do you have questions about the best way to photograph your artwork and reproduce it in various digital and print formats? If so, this is the workshop for you!

Jim Rodgers of Colortek DigitalPlus will lead us through the step-by-step process of photographing a painting, producing various film outputs, and forming realistic expectations for photographic reproductions of art work. He will be discussing color corrections and other modifications to film at the photo lab. Jim will then show us how film and digital images are scanned and translated into different formats (gif, jpeg, tiff, png). Sample scans will be output on a variety of printers—ink jet, light jet, and xerographic. In addition, we will address the advantages of film versus digital photography and learn how to prepare images for the web. Prior to the tour, the artwork of one participant will be randomly selected as a demonstration piece to be highlighted during the various phases of the workshop. Bring your questions and come prepared to learn.

DIRECTIONS: From the Santa Monica Freeway (10) west: Exit at Overland Boulevard and drive south to Jefferson Boulevard in Culver City. Colortek DigitalPlus is on the north side of Jefferson Boulevard just a few blocks east of Overland Boulevard. Park in one of the available lots.
