Multiple Vantage Points: Southern California Women Artists, 1980-2006 Catalog and DVD
A fully illustrated 128-page catalog with an introductory essay by arts writer Suvan Geer of this historical 2007 exhibition featuring 50 leading women artists from Southern California at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. An hour-long video of the exhibition and related programs includes interviews with curator Dextra Frankel, the co-sponsors and many of the artists is also available on DVD. Developed by feminist educator Kesa Kivel in conjunction with the Multiple Vantage Points exhibition. The curriculum was revised in 2008 for broader usage and includes art-based activities and discussion topics suitable for middle-school through college level students.
The guidelines were also developed by Kesa Kivel during her tenure as SCWCA Art Buddy Chair. They outline a guided process for women artists to come together to support each other's vision and work.
