SCWCA member Kesa Kivel's 'GirlHouse' project (inspired by Judy Chicago's 'Womanhouse') opens on Sat., 6/17 at the YWCA Santa Monica / Westside. Dream Sequence, a porcelain sculpture produced in the 1970s-80s by member Bruria Finkel will be among the works debuting on 6/21/06 at the gala opening of the New Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) in Washington D.C. Dream Sequence will be on permanent display at the new Luce Foundation Center for American Art.

Member Michele Cairella curated Up Close and Personal, the 2006 Curator's Show at the SCWCA A-5 Gallery.

Artists selected for Up Close and Personal included members Victoria Alverez, Yvonne Beatty, Janice DeLoof, Diane Destiny, Hadiya Finley, Cynthia Friedlob, Myra Gantman, Sophie Gasparian, Diana Hobstetter, Linda Lundell, Barbara Margolies, Penny Mc Elroy, Michele Ogilvie, Marge Rheuban, Launa Romoff, Joanne Beaule Ruggles, Cindy Rinne, Gabriela Sincich and France White. The show opened on June 3rd, 2006.
