My artwork looks to find the beauty and joy in life. I search for that sense of wonder in nature, existing so tenuously on this planet. I focus on the grace and spirituality of humankind within the difficult world that we live.
Little did I know that I would face the difficulty of losing everything in the Palisades fire. All my paintings, drawings, fabric works, all the printed publications, documentations of exhibitions from over 50 years of practice are gone. It is a test for one’s perseverance and strength. All this work exhibited in “Embers” was burned.
However, creativity doesn’t die, it lives on within.I begin again to collect what I have used to make my work - fabrics, papers, beads, paints and threads. I am grateful for the kindness of friends who send me all kinds of materials and elements to incorporate into new pieces. My desire is still strong to address a global consciousness where the commonalities of humanity can be seen as one.
